BEST BOILER REPAIR MAN
Fast reliable boiler repairs by your local Gas Safe engineer, We fix all makes and models,
I'm Vince from GC Plumbing, a local Gas Safe engineer specialising in boiler breakdowns, fault finding and boiler repairs across South West London and Surrey.
Boiler repairs are a big part of what I do. From an intermittent fault that's been driving you mad for weeks to no heating, no hot water, leaking boilers, pressure problems and difficult fault codes, my aim is to properly diagnose the problem and get your boiler running again — not simply tell you that you need a new one.
I repair boilers throughout the SW and KT postcode areas, including:
Boiler repairs in Surbiton & Tolworth
Boiler repairs in Kingston
Boiler repairs in New Malden
Boiler repairs in Chessington
Boiler repairs in Thames Ditton & Long Ditton
Boiler repairs in Esher
Boiler repairs in Epsom
Boiler repairs in Wimbledon
Boiler repairs across South West London & Surrey
I work on Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm, Potterton and many other domestic gas boilers, covering everything from straightforward breakdowns to difficult and intermittent faults.
No heating? No hot water? Boiler won't fire up? Fault code showing?
Give Vince at GC Plumbing a call and speak directly to the engineer who'll be diagnosing and repairing your boiler.
Modern boilers display a fault code or error code when they detect a problem. The code can help identify which part of the boiler needs checking, but it doesn't always mean that a particular component needs replacing.
At GC Plumbing, I provide boiler fault finding and breakdown repairs across Surbiton, Tolworth, Kingston, New Malden, Chessington, Esher, Epsom, Wimbledon and surrounding South London & Surrey areas.
Common boiler fault code problems include:
Boiler showing a fault or error code
Boiler won't fire up
Boiler repeatedly locking out
Boiler works after a reset but the fault keeps returning
Ignition or flame failure
Low water pressure faults
Overheating faults
Fan or air-pressure faults
Pump and circulation problems
Temperature sensor faults
Gas valve or ignition problems
Heating working but no hot water
Boiler suddenly losing heating and hot water
I diagnose fault codes on many popular boiler makes including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm and Potterton.
A fault code is a useful starting point, but proper testing is important to establish why the fault has occurred before replacing parts.
Boiler showing a fault code? Contact GC Plumbing with your boiler make, model and fault code to arrange a local boiler repair.
If your central heating is working but you have no hot water, the boiler itself is clearly capable of producing heat, but there may be a problem with the components that control or produce your domestic hot water.
This is a common combi boiler fault and doesn't necessarily mean that your boiler needs replacing.
Possible causes can include:
Faulty diverter valve
Blocked or restricted plate heat exchanger
Faulty flow sensor or flow turbine
Hot water temperature sensor / NTC fault
Boiler not detecting when a hot tap is opened
Low or fluctuating hot water flow
Electrical or PCB fault
Hot water getting hot then cold
Boiler firing for heating but not firing for hot water
At GC Plumbing, I diagnose no hot water faults on Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm, Potterton and other domestic boilers throughout South West London, Surbiton, Tolworth, Kingston, New Malden, Chessington, Esher, Epsom and the surrounding KT postcode areas.
If your radiators are getting hot but your taps or shower are cold, I can fault-find the boiler, identify what's actually causing the problem and advise on the most economical repair.
Heating working but no hot water? Contact Vince at GC Plumbing for local boiler fault finding and repair.
A blocked or restricted plate heat exchanger is a common cause of hot water problems on combi boilers. Over time, scale, sludge and debris can restrict the small waterways inside the heat exchanger and prevent heat being transferred efficiently to your hot water.
Common signs of a blocked plate heat exchanger include:
Hot water going hot and cold
Shower temperature constantly fluctuating
Hot water starts hot then turns cold
Boiler temperature rising quickly when a hot tap is running
Boiler firing and cutting out
Poor or reduced hot water performance
Heating working normally but hot water not working correctly
Hot water taking longer to heat up
At GC Plumbing, I regularly diagnose and replace blocked plate heat exchangers on Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm and other combi boilers.
If your boiler's hot water is constantly changing temperature, don't automatically assume you need a new boiler. I can diagnose the cause and, where required, replace the plate heat exchanger to get your hot water working correctly again.
Hot water going hot and cold? Contact Vince at GC Plumbing for boiler fault finding and plate heat exchanger repairs across South West London and the KT postcode areas.
A leaking boiler should be investigated before a small leak causes damage to other components. Water can escape from several different parts of a boiler, and the location of the leak can help identify the cause.
Common causes of boiler leaks include:
Leaking pressure relief valve (PRV)
Faulty or discharged expansion vessel
Leaking pump
Worn seals and O-rings
Leaking diverter valve
Leaking plate heat exchanger
Main heat exchanger leaks
Internal pipe or connection leaks
Boiler pressure rising too high and discharging water
Condensate leaks
At GC Plumbing, I diagnose and repair leaking boilers throughout South West London, Surbiton, Tolworth, Kingston, New Malden, Chessington, Esher, Epsom and the surrounding KT postcode areas.

The boiler flue is an important safety component that carries combustion products safely from the boiler to outside. Problems with a boiler flue should always be inspected by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Boiler flue problems can include:
Leaking boiler flue
Water entering around the flue
Damaged or deteriorated flue seals
Loose or incorrectly fitted flue joints
Flue not correctly supported
Damaged flue terminal
Incorrect flue fall or installation
Problems with flue extensions
Corrosion or deterioration
Boiler fault codes associated with airflow or combustion
I can inspect and diagnose boiler and flue problems, identify whether repairs or replacement components are required and ensure the boiler and flue are operating safely.
If you suspect a problem with your boiler flue, don't dismantle or attempt to repair it yourself.

If you can smell gas in your home or suspect a gas leak from a boiler, cooker, hob or gas pipework, it should never be ignored. Gas leaks can occur from appliances, joints, pipework and components such as a boiler gas valve.
Gas problems I can investigate include:
Smell of gas near a boiler
Suspected faulty or leaking boiler gas valve
Gas pipe leaks
Leaking gas fittings or joints
Gas cooker or hob leaks
Gas smell after an appliance has been installed or disconnected
Suspected leaks from older gas pipework
Gas pressure and tightness testing
Locating and repairing gas leaks
Boiler gas supply and combustion faults
I'm Gas Safe registered and carry out gas fault finding, tightness testing and gas repairs across South West London, Surbiton, Tolworth, Kingston, New Malden, Chessington and surrounding KT postcode areas.
If you currently smell gas, don't use electrical switches, naked flames or anything that could create a spark. Open doors and windows where safe to do so, turn off the gas supply at the emergency control valve if you know how and can do so safely, and call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999.
Once the immediate situation has been made safe, GC Plumbing can investigate and repair faults with boilers, gas pipework, cookers and other domestic gas appliances.
Just because a boiler is old doesn't always mean it needs to be replaced. One of the biggest problems with repairing older boilers is finding parts once manufacturers discontinue them.
At GC Plumbing, I have access to a large local supply of new, refurbished and quality used boiler parts, including components removed from boilers specifically for spares. This means I can sometimes source parts for older boilers that are no longer readily available through normal suppliers.
I can source many older boiler components including:
Discontinued boiler parts
Boiler PCBs
Gas valves
Fans
Pumps
Main heat exchangers
Plate heat exchangers
Diverter valves
Hydraulic blocks
Flow sensors and turbines
Pressure relief valves (PRVs)
Sensors, switches and controls
Various older and hard-to-find boiler components
I work on older Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm, Potterton and other domestic boilers.
I also have access to locally stocked parts, which means I can sometimes obtain hard-to-find components outside normal supplier opening hours, subject to availability.
If another engineer has told you “they don't make the part anymore”, it may still be worth checking before replacing the entire boiler.
Got an old boiler with an obsolete or discontinued part? Contact Vince at GC Plumbing with the boiler make, model and fault and I'll see what can be sourced.
